CEROVO

Traditional parta of lutheran village Cerovo was original by its shape and decoration. Part of it were “tráke” tiny pigtails made of bright hairs. When girls did not have a bright hairs, they were leaving their cutted hairs outside during winter to get darker shade by frost.  “Parta” was worn through great feasts in church. There were two types of this “parta”. One was worn by younger girls before maturity. This one was without wreath. The other one for older women was with wreath. Wreath was in shape of crown with pearls, silver beads and tiny glass decorations joined with red paper flowers. Frontal part was decorated with green rosemary which was symbol of brides virginity. In the left top corner you can see pair of pigeons, which are symbols for love and loyalty. Darker colour passage between parta and eyes is highlighted craving look of bride, look filled with love and tender.
