ABOUT PARTA
One of the references that we have about the traditional parta of this area “Turiec” comes from the Prussian traveler W. Richter, who in the 40s of the 19th century came from his trip of our country wrote that gorgeous girls from Turiec have beautiful breasts and nice auburn hair braided with colorful ribbons, and their head was beautifully decorated with a gold “parta”. This “parta” is presented in the drawing of “The girl and Olejkár from Turiec” by JH Bikkesy in 1820. In the 19th century, the “parta” was replaced with a wreath of myrtle or other live greenery. Wreath to a typical costume is part of the wedding costume from Šatnica today‘s Rentals costumes shop. Wreath on a painting is made of “krušpán”, preserved in wax and decorated with white ribbons. Under the garland wore the bride-to-be braided hair at the very end of the braid they were tied with embroidered ribbons. During the rst half of the 20th century traditional wedding garland with ribbons was replaced by a small wreath of arti cial owers and leaves, completed with a white veil.
