POLOMKA

Base motive on this painting are geometrical patterns took from womans feast coat. Decoration of this coat is composed of colourfull embroidered fur. In tradition fur coat is symbolising a wealth, happiness and prosperity. Oldest photo of “parta” came from Pavel Socháň made in 1901. “Parta” is composed of pigtail and wreath. Pigtail in this “parta” has meaning of headband with spangles and top of head was decorated with wreath of beads and leaves. On back side were stripes of various colours falling on the edge of skirt. “Parta” dissapeared from life in 1960s. Till these days are only 30 partas left in village.
