PIEŠŤANY
“Oddanica”- brides typical name for this region, used to worn fresh made wedding dress with yellow embroidery, similar to feast dress by colours. Brides dress was joined by „Parta“ and “odievačka”-type of pinafore. Bridesmaids were characterised colourful dress with pinned rosemary and bodice. On wedding day as part of ritual was „Parta“ put on brides head only by godmother. „Parta“ was composed of wreath, crown and ne- edled colourful flower stripes. Wreath was made of colourful pearls and mirrors and on top of it was placed crown. Virgin bride used to had also rosemary branches secured on top. In first third of 20th century comes a disappearing of folk dress and is replaced by towns dress style. Dominating colours of woman’s folk dress yellow, orange and lately also blue and red. Needlework is mostly seen on sleeves. Typical sign of this dress were flower motives in shape of circle.
