BLAŽOV

“Parta” on this painting has its origins in already demised village Blažov. It was ruined because of creation of military area Javorina. Citizens were moved to surrounding villages. Through second world war is traditional folk dress and also “parta” dissapearing from life in this village. There are still some “Partas” left in Žakovce village but not more then 15 pieces. They are in personal possesion and are used on village or church feasts. Authors have put in backround geometrical pattern of cross needlework originated on sleeve of woman´s feast dress. This cross shaped anchor symbolise stability and loyalty in love. Tearfull look on model´s face symbolise sadness of losing freedom.
